Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Summary: Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in the Philadelphia plant. Also available on a consultant basis for other plant locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acts as primary specialist in manufacturing.
- Responsible for investigating and troubleshooting manufacturing problems and other issues pertaining to reel production.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
- Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Serves as manufacturing expert for design for manufacturability issues.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Evaluates and initiates orders for new machinery and equipment required in the manufacturing process. Negotiates with vendors of machinery and equipment with regard to machine capabilities and performance warrantees.
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook.
- Good Organizational Skills and 6 sigma experience.
- Ability to be a team leader both to external and internal departments
- Decision making, problem solving, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to use good judgment, manage priorities, and make independent decisions.
Education and/or Experience
- Four year engineering degree.
- Minimum of two years experience in manufacturing environment
 
Job Title: CNC/Set-up Automatic
Summary: Responsible for setting up and operating various CNC machines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Operates and set up precision CNC control machining centers for a variety of operations including centering, drilling, tapping, mill, tri-planning, etc.
- Performs maintenance and repairs of machines.
- Grinds cutting tools and keeps tool holders in repair.
- Oversees quality control with a variety of micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Does some programming on long and/or short run jobs.
- Makes changes in programs when needed.
- All other duties as assigned by manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
- High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Requires accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience in using micrometers, calipers and gauges.
- Ability to perform repetitive actions
- Ability to follow directives.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma
- 5 yrs experience in CNC and Lathe.
Physical Demands: Some material handling, preventative maintenance, lifting, bending, and stooping.
Work Environment: Manufacturing.
