1986 – Frank Mundus catches a 3,427lb Great
White shark, the largest fish ever caught on rod and reel using a
Penn International 130. The IGFA does not recognize the record because
a dead whale was floating in the vicinity of the catch. It is illegal
to use whale meat as bait, although Capt. Mundus never actually had
any actual whale meat on his lure. |
