| Adam
LaRosa has been fishing as long as he could hold a fishing pole
on any one of the 35 boats his father, Captain Joseph LaRosa, has
owned and operated through the years. At an early age, Adam was
capable of running the cockpit and by the age of 12 was a full time
summer mate on several charter boats running out of Manasquan Inlet,
NJ. The knowledge he gained during those summers, coupled with his
father desire to get into the charter fishing business, culminated
in the purchase of the first Canyon Runner, a 28' Bertram, put into
service as a charter boat in 1984.
Over the years, the Canyon Runner has taken clients offshore over
2,000 times and during those early years, Adam was running the cockpit
on most every trip while attending, High School, College and Law
School. Upon graduating Law School and passing the New York and
New Jersey Bars, he began his career in Manhattan, but still refused
to leave the cockpit, managing to mate on 20-30 canyon trips a year.
Fishing the Northeast Canyons for 23 years Adam has logged over
500 trips to the continental shelf between The Dip, Hudson, Toms,
Carteret, Linden Cole, Spencer, Wilmington, and Baltimore Canyons.
Moreover, he has crewed the Canyon Runner to all of its tournament
victories and has been instrumental in molding the Canyon Runner
into the premier offshore boat on the East Coast and a top producer
of tuna and marlin every time the Canyon Runner heads to the continental
shelf. In addition, Adam has authored 17 articles focusing on offshore
fishing for the Big Game Fishing Journal. This past winter Adam
and the crew of the Canyon Runner developed and delivered 2 major
offshore seminars to over 800 people in Atlantic City, NJ and Long
Island, NY.
There are only three things that keep Adam from spending every day
he is not in the office offshore fishing – his beautiful wife
Shari and daughters Arianna and Alexa.
