operates a sport fishing charter business on Lake Ontario and its
tributaries for trout and salmon. He also guides for muskies on the
St. Lawrence River. He has 32years experience in the business on
a variety of New York State waters, and worked as a fishery biologist/manager
for the NYSDEC for 22 years.
Capt. Ernie Lantiegne operates Fish Doctor Charters on Lake Ontario
and it's tributaries for steelhead, trout, and salmon. He also guides
for muskies on the St. Lawrence River. 2005 will be his 32nd year
in the charter fishing business. Before he began to fish full time
in 1988, he worked for the New York State Dept. of Environmental
Conservation as a fishery biologist/manager, specializing in trout
and salmon management, forage fish monitoring, lamprey control,
and public relations. He currently writes for magazines like "Great
Lakes Angler" and "Northwoods Sporting Journal".
He is actively involved in volunteer fish management efforts like
the ongoing steelhead and Chinook pen rearing projects on Lake Ontario.
Highly respected as the "Fish Doctor", he has a unique
perspective on Great Lakes fishing from both the management and angling
aspects.
