From Tampa Bay FL to Sagese Bay Canada Northerns to channel cats this Battle 1000 has preformed like a champ
Ive had my battle 4000 for 8 months and it catches snook at spillways to reds, cobia and trout on the flats. One day we were catching sharks at eggmont key when my pinfish chunk got in inhaled by a 19 in. red grouper that little reel brought it up with extremely smoth drag and cranking power.
I bought this reel to replace a cheaper Penn reel I had gotten bored of, I saw a review that someone said that they bought the reel went to Montauk and it locked up within an hour. I bought the reel and went out to Montauk last year, its fallen in its been submerged, I've fished in the rain with it, it still works like its brand new(despite missing the bottom cover), if I could afford to buy another one for my other rod, I would.
I have the 8000 and it's really suits fishing conditions here in Egypt. I use it in light trolling, bottom fishing and DEEP JIGGING. And yeah it's AWESOME
