Water Tight Design
A total of 6 seals (9 seals on the live liner models) are used to create the new Water Tight Design used in the Spinfisher V. Whether you dunk the reel in the surf, or let it ride in the spray all the way home, you don’t have to worry about saltwater getting into the gearbox or drag system.
Slammer® Drag System
A truly sealed drag system with a total of 3 HT-100 drag washers (1 on the top of the spool, 2 underneath the spool). All HT-100 washers are greased for smoothness and longevity. Extreme range, endless adjustment, and a large diameter drag knob so you can easily crank down to max drag.
A full metal body and sideplate keep precise gear alignment under heavy loads.
Superline Spool™
No backing needed because the rubber gasket keeps superline from slipping.
Line Capacity Rings
Eliminates the question of how much line you have left when fighting a fish. The three lines on the spool flange let you know when you have 1/3rd, 2/3rd or a full spool of line. Also if you respool often these lines find you a benchmark for backing your superlines with monofilament which will help eliminate wasted time and line.
Live Liner® Drag
Are you a serious live bait fisherman? The Live Liner drag was built for fishing live bait. Simply pull the switch back and the front drag disengages and runs off the Live Liner drag. The Live Liner drag is a much lighter drag that lets your live bait swim free. When you get bit, simply start cranking the handle and the Live Liner drag disengages, the front drag engages, and you're tight on your fish.

Awesome Products
As soon as I bought the Spinfisher 8500, I ran straight to the monsters. Upon first inspection of the reel, I was very pleased. Spooled her up with 65lb braid and it laid on perfectly. The first cast was effortless and went well over 75-80 yards. Let her sit for a minute and BAMM!!! This reel was singing like a songstress. Tightened the drag a little and the fish were begging for mercy. Hitched up to a 50lb redfish off a pier and the reel executed flawlessly. My wife wanted to feel it when she hooked up to a 40lb bullred. We both love it. If you don't have one get one. You won't be disappointed.

Spinfisher V SSV7500 from Veracruz Mexico
Very good Spinfisher reel came the ssv 7500 V and above with good luck, on the first day of use in the first run Diablo catch a fish on the coast of Veracruz near Palma Sola, had never caught a similar fish, the reel showed very good performance as the fish gave a very good fight, I recommend it 100%. You better a bad day fishing than a good day at work.*******
Muy buen carrete salio el Spinfisher V ssv 7500 y sobretodo con muy buena suerte, en el primer día de uso en la primera tirada atrape un pez Diablo en las Costas de Veracruz cerca de Palma Sola, nunca habia atrapado un pez similar, el carrete mostró muy buen desempeño ya que el pez dio una muy buena pelea, lo recomiendo al 100%. Mas vale un mal dia de pesca que un buen dia de trabajo.

True thoroughbred saltwater reel.
I bought two of the Spinfishers V's back in Feb, a 4500 and a 5500. The number of advanced features on them simply put these reels in the class of Shimano's Biomaster SW series (for which I have the 5000 size). The Spinfishers are really smooth and robust, the quality is really up there with the Shimano's. They are all great great reels but when the Shimano's cost more than double than the Spinfisher so I think I know who the winner is. Pound for pound I cannot find anything equal or come even close to the Spinfisher V yet. I am not a die hard fan of any brand but Penn really has won me over this time round and I think I will stick with them for a while.

Reliable Reel!
i picked up this reel a couple of months ago, and dont regret it! this is my go to reel, i have a 4500 on a 7ft star rod, and bring it with me wherever i go!
