It’s not often you can find everything you want in a high end surf rod at half the price. The Prevail™ provides strength and performance with a two-piece graphite composite rod blank. Stainless steel frames with aluminum oxide inserts create a light weight and durable guide perfect for fishing mono or braid.
The rubber shrink tube handle design provides a secure grip whether wet or dry.
The Prevail is a perfect match for PENN Sargus®, Fierce® or Pursuit® spinning reels or Squall star drag conventional reels. Check out the rod to reels combination chart to find suggested reel to rod combinations.

I bought an 11' penn prevail surf spinng rod and love it. I bought a cheaper competitor for my second rod and after one day it broke. I said forget it and bought another penn prevail. Don't waste your money with other cheap competition. So yourself a favor and get a Penn Prevail surf rod. You wont regret it. Very light weight and durable!
I bought the 10ft casting one as my first surf rod and is a good rod for the money. When I bought it they told me the power was a Medium Heavy but feel more like on the Heavy side. Paired it with a Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6601C4.
So I bought 2 of these rods (12 foot conventional) about 3 months ago, the rod is great, except for the real seat, its very, VERY low quality! I have rods for $30 that have better reel seats than the Prevails, the blank itself, however, is very light and strong, also very nice grips. I wish Penn would upgrade the reel seats for an extra $10 or so on the rods as both of mine are cracked, and while still usable, not ideal.
I teamed the 10 ft model up with the penn fierce 6000 reel and couldn't be happier with the set up.Rod is well balanced, cast great and has plenty of power.
